Key Responsibilities:
World Vision Lesotho is recruiting 200 Coaches to support the implementation of the Economic Inclusion Project (EIP) under Lot II of the Pathway to Sustainable Livelihoods Project (PSLP). This project led by the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, aims to uplift poor and vulnerable households by integrating support in community economic inclusion activities. This role is built on a foundation of empathy, local understanding, and an unwavering commitment to inclusivity for all, especially People with Disabilities (PWD).
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Business Management/Diploma in Agricultural Studies Social Work, Community Development, Entrepreneurship, Agri-business, Rural development or other related fields.
- Inclusivity and Experience with Diverse Groups: A minimum of one (1) year experience in community mobilization and facilitation, with a special focus on vulnerable populations. This includes a demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with women, youth, and People with Disabilities (PWD), showing an understanding of the unique barriers they may face.
- Community Trust and Knowledge: Must have a knowledge of community councils with in-depth knowledge of the local culture and economic landscape.
- Business and Entrepreneurship Acumen: A solid understanding of small-scale business management, including business planning, financial literacy, and market analysis relevant to the local context.
- Commitment to Principles: A demonstrated commitment to the principles of non-discrimination, gender equality, and decent work;
- Location: Must reside in one of the following selected project implementation councils: Mokhotlong – Mphokojoane Council; Butha-Buthe – Hololo; Thaba-Tseka – Tenesulu; Qacha’snek – Nts’upe Community Councils.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- Fluency in spoken and written Sesotho and English is mandatory to ensure clear communication, trust-building, and effectiveness with all participants.
- Excellent active listening, empathy, and mentoring skills are crucial for building rapport and creating a safe, encouraging environment for beneficiaries.
- Report writing skills.
Key Roles and Responsibilities of the Coach:
The selected coaches will be the very important (Key player) of the EIP Lot II program, responsible for:
- Mentoring and motivating participants with empathy and respect.
- Provide support and guidance with usage of the investment grant;
- Reinforce training concepts and ensure their application;
- Facilitate referrals to social services;
- Training on livelihood management, business skills, and life skills.
- Proactively adapting all training materials and activities to be accessible and meaningful for participants with disabilities.
- Connecting households to government, community, and disability-specific resources.
- Monitoring the progress of beneficiaries and adapting support strategies to meet individual needs.
The selection process will be competitive and value-based, to ensure that the chosen coaches possess the necessary skills, dedication, and inclusive mindset to guide vulnerable households in Lesotho on their pathway to sustainable livelihoods.
