Applications are invited from suitably qualified local candidates for the following position:
POSITION: Driver
Number of Positions: Three (3)

Responsible To: Transport Officer
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Transport Officer, the Driver is responsible for operating and maintaining government vehicles in a safe, efficient, and responsible manner. The incumbent ensures the cleanliness, servicing, and proper documentation of assigned vehicles, while adhering to all transport and safety regulations.
Main Duties
- Drives and ensures proper handling of government vehicles.
- Maintains and accurately updates the vehicle logbook.
- Keeps vehicles clean, both interior and exterior, at all times.
- Monitors and reports vehicle maintenance needs and service due dates to the Transport Officer.
- Reports any damage, malfunction, accident, or loss of vehicle parts promptly.
- Ensures safe transportation of officials, goods, and materials as assigned.
- Observes all traffic rules and road safety regulations at all times.
- Assists in loading and unloading goods or equipment when required.
Job Specification
Minimum Requirements:
- COSC/LGCSE Certificate
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the class of vehicle to be operated
- At least five (5) years of professional driving experience
- Certificate of competence to drive government vehicles (as assessed by the Traffic Department)
- Clean accident-free record
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to drive safely in all areas of Lesotho and neighboring countries.
- Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics and routine maintenance.
- Punctual, responsible, and trustworthy with a strong sense of duty.
- Excellent understanding of road safety and defensive driving techniques.
