RIDERS FOR HEALTH
POSITION: DRIVER X 2
WORK STATION: MASERU
RESPONSIBLE TO: ADMIN MANAGER AT RIDERS FOR HEALTH
Job Summary:
The successful candidates are expected to cover all Riders for Health operations throughout the country. The driver will be based at Riders central office in Maseru. The driver(s) will look after the vehicle and update log sheets provided for monitoring of vehicle use, and report monthly to the M&E Officer, Admin Manager, and Operations Manager.
Specific Duties:
- Transport authorised personnel and other commodities as determined by management.
- Maintain and update log book, mileage, and fuel consumption records.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good condition at all times.
- Ensure that the vehicle is assessed and serviced at required intervals.
Skills, Qualifications, and Qualities:
- Must hold a valid code B driver’s license (minimum 5 years).
- Must have a minimum of a COSC school certificate.
- Good communication and people skills.
- Willingness to travel to remote areas.
- Experience working with NGOs will be an added advantage.

Riders support transport logistics for the health sector and achieve this by maintaining and managing vehicles on a reliable, predictable, and cost-effective basis; to support the work of health partners whose remit is to reach rural communities with health care and other vital services. They facilitate the acquisition of vehicles, setting up systems for preventive maintenance, and training of vehicle/motorcycle users, transport medical samples, results, reports, medicines, and other medical and laboratory commodities. Riders for Health has enabled health workers to reach hitherto hard-to-reach areas, conduct more community outreach visits, and attend to more patients by cutting down walking time.
