JOB TITLE : DRIVER
GRADE : C
RESPONSIBLE TO: TRANSPORT OFFICER
NO. OF POSITIONS: TWO (2)
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Under the general supervision of transport officer the incumbent is responsible for transportation of ministerial staff, maintenance of vehicles, maintenance of the Log Book and offloading of stock in order to facilitate smooth running of the Ministry.
MAIN DUTIES
Transportation of ministerial staff
1.1 Provides driving services to all support services staff on official matters as requested.
1.2 Provides driving services for collection and delivery purposes of official matters as may be required.
Maintenance of Vehicle
Checks safety of vehicle to ensure road worthiness, i.e. Lights, indicators, oil wheels to ensure that the vehicle is in good condition
daily before short and long journeys.
Recommends necessary service.
Cleans vehicle daily to ensure tidiness and cleanliness.
2.4 Reports faults on vehicle to the Transport officer in order to keep vehicle intact.
Maintenance of the Log Book
3.1 Maintains the log book and route orders on daily basis to keep records on vehicle use.
Load and off-load of stock from vehicle
4.1 Loads and off-loads stock from vehicles when need arises.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Education and Training
COSC/LGCSE with valid motor vehicle driver’s license with at least two (2) years driving experience.
Will be required to undergo and pass an appropriate Assessment Test conducted by the Traffic Department.
Personal Attributes
Must have the ability to read, write and communicate in Sesotho and English.
Mental and Physical Condition
Must be mentally and physically fit.
