Storeman / Driver ( Wage Group 12 / Scale A)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Sappi Ngodwana seeks to employ a Driver / Storeman to ensure all equipment is delivered to the respective customers correctly and in the required condition and timeously.
REPORTING TO the Stores Supervisor
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for collecting/deliver items with the truck/LDV to/from the Mill suppliers.
- Ensuring the correct items are collected as per purchase order by carrying out basic quality checks at the Supplier.
- Responsible vehicles condition monitoring by conducting checks on vehicles logbooks, maintenance services and cleanliness.
- Responsible for safe loading and offloading equipment onto vehicle used, liaising with plant when necessary.
- Safeguarding of items loaded and ensures that he knows the weight and length of items loaded onto the Sappi truck/LDV
- Will be required to do Stores Driver standby.
- Receipt of goods, stocks and direct purchases that he collects from suppliers and ensures that documentation is accurately prepared against receipts on SAP.
- To receive, maintain issue and deliver items to and from the Mill customers in a proper and safe way complying with all legal and Mill’s processes and procedures.
- Receive or Issue goods against SAP.Receive materials as per the receiving procedure and SAP Process.
- Bin materials in correct Bins according to SAP
- Maintain the security of the stores always by controlling and limiting access to the stores area
- Ensure that the physical stock in the bin is as per SAP
- Obtain and maintain licenses to operate all the Stores vehicles and overhead crane.
- Do the materials maintenance activities as per schedule.
- Perform all reasonable tasks requested from Stores Managament

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 with Maths & Science
- 1-year clerical and engineering stores experience
- 1-year driver Code 14 EC Driving Experience.
- Storeman experience will be very beneficial
- Valid driving license – Code 14 EC with PDP – A High Requirement
