The Roads Directorate (RD) has been established through Roads Directorate Act 2010 as a body corporate with perpetual succession as a non-profit making public institution governed by the Board of Directors. Roads Directorate manages road infrastructure and ensures that existing roads and access routes are comprehensively and regularly maintained and rehabilitated when required, upgraded and extended in an efficient manner to meet the needs of the economy for the nation. The main functions of the Roads Directorate are road network planning, development and maintenance; quality assurance as well as construction and maintenance of footbridges.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
• General Certificate of Education/ C.O.S.C or LGCSE
• A valid driver’s license – EC.
• A certificate in defensive driving.
• At least five years experience in the official capacity as a driver or chauffeur.
• A record of no traffic accidents, the cause for which could be attributed to such driver, within the last five years.
• To be of sober habits.
• To have experience of driving a 4 wheel drive vehicle in mountainous conditions
• Proficiency in Sesotho and English languages.
