CBA is a non-governmental organization whose mandate is to assist the Lesotho Government on five thematic areas HIV and AIDS, Livelihoods, Economic Empowerment, Food Security and Humanitarian Relief.

With support from the Global Fund (GF) CBA is implementing TB/HIV , SRH Interventions in the following 8 districts Mafeteng, Mohale’s Hoek, Quthing, Qacha’s Nek, Thaba-Tseka, Mokhotlong, Butha-Buthe and Berea with the focus on Key Populations ( Female Sex workers, MSM and IDUs.

Care for Basotho Association invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position;

DRIVER:

Job Purpose

Purpose of the job:  To support CBA programming functions by driving CBA staff members within and outside Lesotho and maintaining CBA property (Vehicle)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Driver will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Drive officials daily to their desired destinations
  • The employee shall practice safe driving all the time and shall not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while on duty.
  • Maintain the vehicle clean and safe all the times.
  • Ensuring that the vehicle is up to date with clearance, registration and insurance, in order to meet the legislative of the government of Lesotho.
  • Ensure that the assigned vehicle is properly maintained and serviced.
  • Ensure adherence to traffic regulations.
  • Maintains vehicle logbook and submits monthly returns to the responsible supervisor.
  • Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues
  • Attends to general safety, care and upkeep of the vehicle including spare parts and tools
  • Reports on any damage of the vehicle, loss of vehicle parts and any incidents involving the vehicle in his custody, monitor the contents of the vehicle (tools, fire distinguishers, First AID kit, triangle’s and spare wheels)

Requirements and Qualifications

  • COSC or Tertiary
  • A valid driver’s license with at least 5 years driving experience and a clean driving record.
  • 5 Years’ experience working with Local or international NGOs is an added advantage
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Sesotho both verbal and written is essential.
  • Experience driving at hard to reach areas (mountains)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Defensive Driving Certificate will be an added advantage
