Applications are invited From suitably qualified local candidates for the following position tenable in the Ministry of Labour and Employment:
JOB TITLE: Driver (District)
Grade: C
Responsible To: Assistant Administration Officer
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Administration Officer, the Driver is expected to perform all driving duties, maintain the logbook, and ensure the cleanliness and safety of all vehicles.
Main Duties
1. Driving Duties
- Transport staff and goods on official duties
2. Logbook Maintenance
- Ensure the logbook is signed before each official trip
- Confirm proper authorization for vehicle use during after-hours or weekend trips
3. Vehicle Cleanliness, Maintenance, and Safety
- Clean all departmental vehicles
- Check vehicle condition regularly (oil, water, brakes, etc.)
- Report vehicle defects or issues
- Park vehicles appropriately after duty
Job Specification
Education and Experience
- COSC and a valid driver’s license
- Valid driver’s license with at least two years of accident-free driving experience
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to understand and communicate in English and Sesotho
Responsibilities
- For Property: Responsible for the custody of vehicles
Complexity
- May work with difficult individuals

Working Conditions
- Unfavourable Conditions: May be required to work beyond normal working hours
- Hazards: Minimal, but awareness of potential risks in the driving environment is essential
