Summary of the Project
The BETA Project is one of four MCA-Lesotho II Projects that comprise the second Compact. Its ultimate goal is to stimulate an increase in firm level profiles and employment from a pipeline of 50 mature stage businesses and 500 MSMEs supported by the Project with focus on those owned by women, youth and other socially underprivileged groups, and MSMEs in rural areas, and priority given to those working in the Horticulture sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Transportation for Lesotho office project staff and other personnel as may be required
- Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repairs
- Updates the logbook of vehicle’s use daily for recording of mileage and submit mileage reports weekly
- Collects and delivers official materials including documents to the right recipients
- Checks safety of vehicles to ensure road worthiness daily and when safety problems are encountered report them and take steps to resolve
- Reports periodic servicing and other needs of the vehicle, e.g., license disk renewal, in advance to ensure its proper handling
- Develops and adheres to updates of schedules of dates and information for vehicle services, warranty agreements, maintenance plans, vehicle license disk and other significant dates
- Ensures that vehicles are clean, always parked safely and keys are kept securely
- Ensures safe keeping of vehicles accessories
- Keeps vehicles filled with gas, checks oil, transmission fluid, and coolant levels, checks air pressure in tires as necessary
- Any other duties as delegated
Minimum Experience
- Minimum of a C.O.S.C certificate
- Professional driving experience, minimum of 5 years
- Defensive driving qualification
- Must have a clean driving record with a valid driving license and a Public Drivers Permit (PDP)
- Experience in the operation of basic vehicle service standards
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment
- International organization experience is an added advantage
