POSITION: DRIVER
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant HR &Administration Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for all driving needs of the Corporation. This includes transportation of staff and other officials to designated destinations timeously and ensuring cleanliness of all vehicles and safety of all passengers at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Drive vehicles to predetermined destinations as allocated by the Assistant Administrative Officer or Senior Driver
• Meet official visitors and transport to LHLDC and/or other locations as directed
• Record journeys and fuel usage in the logbook
• Purchase fuel or spares as authorized in occasional emergency situation in consultation with his/her immediate supervisor and account for the expenditure
• Plan journeys to ensure best usage of resources (time and fuel) and safety of passengers and/or packages
Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Attributes
• The incumbent must have C.O.S.C. with a valid drivers’ license (Light Motor Vehicles), and a minimum of Five (5) years of experience in driving salon and 4×4 vehicles in a range of road and weather conditions.
• He/she should also have the ability to drive throughout Lesotho and in South Africa.
• Sesotho and English languages are required.
• The incumbent should have good communication skills and have a basic knowledge of car maintenance and minor breakdown repairs.
• The incumbent should also be computer literate and conversant with basic Microsoft packages.
• Experience in working with the NGO’s will be an added advantage as well as knowledge in defensive driving.
