JOB TITLE: DRIVER / MESSENGER
The Public Officers’ Defined Contribution Pension Fund “the Fund” has been established to provide retirement benefits of permanent and pensionable Public Officers and for related matters. It is estimated that the Fund has about +-36,000 active Members.
The Fund invites suitably qualified competent and self-driven Basotho to apply for the position of Driver/Messenger.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB AND REPORTING
The incumbent will provide effective and efficient logistics support to the Fund, enhance transport services and provide a wide range of expedient support services for the Fund employees. The position reports to the Finance and Administration Officer, in the Finance and Administration Division.
Key Performance Areas/Responsibilities:
– Practice safe driving habits;
– Accurately follow routes, maps and directions;
– Keep interior and exterior of the vehicles clean, presentable and mechanically sound at all times;
– Perform regular checks for any defects, on all vehicles;
– Report maintenance/service requirements ahead of the service and ensure that all the Fund vehicles are road worthy at all times;
– Complete documentation such as logs, mileage, mail register and reports;
– Adhere to traffic laws and all safety regulations and standards whenever on duty in any country;
– Timeously collect and deliver office materials/consumables, mail,
documents/packages and other correspondence to and from designated areas;
– Load and unload vehicles where need arise;
– Provide transport services to all the Fund employees and other Stakeholders on official duties locally, nationally and outside the country;
– Assist in Stakeholder engagement exercises nationally/throughout the country;
– Undertake clerical/messenger duties as requested;
– Provide assistance with any other duties, in all Divisions as need arises;
Qualifications and Experience:
– Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no traffic violations).
– Diploma plus five (5) years of experience as a driver of an organisation, with experience of 4×4 vehicles.
– Defensive driving certificate and familiarity with GPS devices will be an added advantage.
– Stakeholder interactions experience will be an added advantage.
– Availability to occasionally work beyond normal working hours including weekends.
– Should be able to communicate in both Sesotho and English.
