JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Administration Officer, the Driver transports the staff of the Ministry on all official trips.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Performs driving duties and takes care of the Government vehicles for which he or she is responsible.
2. Properly check oil, lights, petrol, wheel pressure, nuts brakes and tools
3. Takes care of vehicles by adhering to the duties of a Driver as tabulated under Driver’s Instructions. This includes maintenance of vehicles as well as serving themand that all accidents caused to /by the vehicle he or she is responsible for, are reported on time.
4. Ensures that the vehicle is always clean and tidy
5. Drives the vehicle only when the lock book is properly authorized.
6. Submits the lock book monthly and submits it to the responsible officer.
7. Secures vehicle equipment and ensures that the vehicle is always securely packed with locking devices.
8. Be prepared to be assigned driving duties on early or late shifts and ensures that due authority is obtained for vehicle operating after normal working hours.
9. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
JOB SPECIFICATION
• COSC OR GCE
• A valid driver’s license with three (3) years driving experience especially Code C
• Passing an assessment
• Three years of accident free driving and proficiency certificate of driving
