Letšeng Diamonds seeks to engage a Mosotho national with the appropriate skills and aptitude to fill the position of:
DRILL RIG SUPERVISOR (Patterson Band – CU)
Purpose of the Role
The Drill Rig Supervisor will be responsible for the maintenance of Epiroc D65 Drill Rigs and must demonstrate a clear understanding of best practice maintenance standards and drilling principles.
Main Outputs and Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the current maintenance plans
- Establish and maintain cost-effective and productive drill availability, MTBF & MTTR
- Provide training and coaching to personnel to improve blasting processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety, environmental, confidentiality, and code of conduct
- Meet or exceed performance expectations as set by management
- Exercise discretion and sound judgment in all job functions
- Prioritize the safety of all personnel and ensure a risk-free work environment
- Demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance
- Contribute to the development of departmental personnel
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Diploma in Auto Electrical with accreditation from Epiroc in both basic and advanced drill rig maintenance
- 4 to 5 years of maintenance experience on Epiroc or similar drill rigs
- Minimum of one year field experience in drilling and blasting
- Strong technical knowledge of drilling activities and safety practices
Required Skills and Competencies
- In-depth understanding of drilling and blasting equipment, materials, and procedures
- Strong technical knowledge of Epiroc RCS system
- Advanced understanding of AC/DC and PLC electrical circuits, with the ability to troubleshoot and conduct circuit analysis
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- General knowledge of drilling and mining operations
