The bi-national Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP), of the Kingdom of Lesotho (KOL) and the Republic of South Africa (RSA) is aimed at harnessing the water resources of the highlands of Lesotho for the mutual advantage of Lesotho and the Republic of South Africa.

The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) was set up to implement and operate that part of the LHWP that falls within the borders of Lesotho. LHDA is to embark on Phase II of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP), a multi-billion-rand Phase involving large scale civil engineering and socio-environmental aspects. In ensuring that it achieves its mandate, the LHDA places emphasis on its values of caring, professionalism, execution, teamwork, communication, and customer focus. SUMMARY JOB PURPOSE

To manage and oversee the Development & Operations Division – portfolio which includes Contracts Administration, Katse, ‘Muela, Mohale and Reservoir Management Branches. To formulate divisional strategies and manage LHDA assets to fulfill the LHDA obligations as prescribed in the LHWP Treaty and other governance instruments, and to provide leadership and direction to the Division Management to ensure that they implement approved policies, strategies, plans and projects for the Division

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A degree in Electrical/mechanical/ civil engineering. A certificate in Project Management and/or A post-graduate qualification in Business Management (e.g., MBA) or an applicable Master’s degree will be an added advantage

Minimum Experience

At least 10 years relevant postgraduate experience is essential. Must include 5 years experience at management level. Experience in the management of large water resource and or water and/or electricity services projects, preferably in a utility will be an added advantage
