District COVID-19 vaccination Demand Creation Officer x4

Location:   Quthing, Thaba Tseka, Leribe, Maseru in Lesotho

Job Summary

The COVID -19 Vaccination District Demand Creation Officer will be responsible to provide direct support to the relevant districts in the regions; North, South, Central and headquarters working with RCCE focal person at DHMTs, health facilities as well as community, with the aim to address COVID vaccination hesitancy and increase vaccination demand. To promote observation of COVID-19 safety protocols at all levels. He/ She will be responsible to plan, coordinate implementation and manage COVID-19 demand creation strategies in the districts in respective region.

Roles and Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with DRCCE pillar lead to:

1. Extend the implementation of COVID-19 ACSM activities in the district
   1. Disseminate COVID-19 information through different channels
   2. Advocate for COVID-19 services in all gate-keepers at district level
   3. Identify all hot spots for COVID-19 at district level
2. Coordination of Information Education Communication (IEC) Materials at district level
   1. Administer distribution and usage of supportive IEC materials at the district level
   2. Provide ACSM technical assistance in the district
   3. Collaborate with DHMT to plan for targeted districts campaigns, identify district COVID-19 hotspots, conduct awareness meetings for all target groups;
   4. Report progress and challenges
3. Facilitation of message delivery trainings
   1. Develop teaching or training assessment tools
   2. Provide guidance in the Demand creation and social mobilisation
   3. Participate in the orientation and training of Community engagement field workers or community engagement assistant officers
   4. Produce training and demand creation reports
4. Monitoring and evaluation of COVID-19 district ACSM activities
   1. Develop monitoring tools and report template
   2. Develop supervisory checklist
   3. Compile reports from community engagement assistant officer and district COVID 19 coordinators
   4. Identify challenges and gaps
   5. Report findings

 Required Qualifications and Experienc

• Degree in Health promotion and Education with 3 years working experience in the health sector on relevant matters       OR
• Degree in Environmental Health with at least 5 years’ experience in the health sector on relevant matters
• Experience on COVID-19 related work will be an added advantage

Skills knowledge and abilities

• Prior experience in COVID or health related work
• Comfortable working independently or self-starter.
• Good inter personal skills, team work and supervision skills.
• Be computer literate; prepare reports, presentations, emails etc.
• Must be willing to travel around the district to reach all sectors of society
• Close collaboration with DHMT focal person
