DISTRICT COORDINATOR – ComBaCaL Project Mokhotlong

We are looking for a motivated, hard-working, pro-active, and hands-on individual interested in research to support the smooth implementation of the ComBaCaL project in Mokhotlong district.  The coordinator will work in collaboration with the DHMT, Health Facilities in Mokhotlong, ComBaCaL partners and Stakeholders.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute actively to the ComBaCaL training manuals for health care workers
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct trainings for health care workers in MKG and in close collaboration with the DHMT
  • Closely monitor and supervise health care workers in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Mobilize and sensitize the communities involved in ComBaCaL
  • Support the planning, implementing and reporting of specific components of the project, i.e baseline survey, ComBaCaL trial and community cohort
  • Coordinate project implementation closely with the MKG DHMT and other district authorities.
  • Critically assess project progress in the district and report challenges
  • Oversee appropriate and efficient use of SolidarMed asset/s and material/s used for ComBaCaL
  • Ensure timely submission of all project related receipts and accounting details for the monthly, quarterly, and annual account closures.

 Skills and Required Competencies:

  • Minimum 4 years working experience, preferably in a government or CHAL health facility
  • A valid registration certificate with the Lesotho Nursing Council
  • Sound computer literacy, effective communication skills, report writing skills,
  • Effective communication, good coordination and strong work ethic including honesty and high level of integrity.  
  • Able to work under pressure, pay attention to detail and work with a multi-national team.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken Sesotho and English
  • Having worked with an NGO is an added advantage

Qualifications – Minimum Diploma in Nurse midwifery. A post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
