Job Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the District Coordinator, the Peer Educator is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate SBCC (CSE) sessions at the community level for AGYW.
- Administer and complete SBCC tools during sessions.
- Carry out HTS and TB screening for all participants (AGYW).
- Create demand for health and non-health referrals for all eligible participants (AGYW).
- Prepare and submit weekly reports as per work plans.
- Collaborate with Health Facilities, VHWs, and all relevant IPs to support community health outreaches and mobilise for PrEP uptake and other SRH services.
- Facilitate health talks to eligible groups in Health Facilities.
- Draw up and submit accurate monthly reports on time.
- Conduct condom education, promotion, and distribution to participants.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum qualification: COSC/LGCSE.
- Lay Counsellor certification will be an added advantage.
- At least one year of relevant experience working on HIV and TB programmes.
- Experience in community fieldwork on health-related projects.
- Prior experience working as a Peer Educator or with children, adolescents, and young people.

- No past allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse.

- Ability to function with mature judgment, tact, and diplomacy, ensuring consistent compliance with Sentebale policies and procedures.
- Ability to sustain strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders.

Applications must indicate the name of the Health Facility, the catchment village, and be stamped by the area chief.
