VACANCY NOTICE – RE-ADVERTISEMENT
The Council on Higher Education (CHE) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of:
DIRECTOR: QUALITY ASSURANCE
Job Purpose
To lead and direct the Quality Assurance & Standards Division in the development and coordination of policies, standards, and regulations for the implementation of institutional registration, accreditation, and quality assurance procedures. This role aligns with the Higher Education Act of 2004 and CHE’s extended mandate, including oversight of the Lesotho Qualifications Framework (LQF).
Minimum Requirements
Option 1
- Master’s Degree in Educational Management (Assessment and Evaluation, Quality Systems and Management) or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience, including time in a senior managerial position in a recognised higher education institution, quality assurance agency, regulatory body, policy development or M&E organisation
Option 2
- Doctorate in Educational Management (Assessment and Evaluation, Quality Systems and Management) or a related field
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a managerial position in a recognised higher education institution, quality assurance agency, regulatory body, policy development or M&E organisation
Key Competencies
- Strong understanding of national, regional, and global higher education systems
- Knowledge of the Lesotho education system
- In-depth knowledge of quality assurance principles in higher education
- Strategic thinking and coordination of diverse functions
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional integrity
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service orientation
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
