Hipcamp is looking for a Director of Design to lead and grow the Design team and drive the Design vision forward to get more people outside. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience leading Design teams in consumer internet companies, ideally marketplaces. About the Position
Hipcamp is looking for a Director of Design who is passionate about building and scaling exceptional consumer products through rapid periods of growth. You will be at the forefront of this growth where you will lead teams in designing the entire Hipcamp experience for our Host and Camper communities. You will work closely with both leadership and the product development team to deliver on the Hipcamp vision.
This is a remote/distributed position (US/Canada)

Compensation will be a mix of salary and stock options. It is based on your location and will be highly competitive compared to similar-stage companies.

What Sets You Up For Success
- 5+ years of experience leading Design teams in consumer internet companies
- Experience in both mobile and responsive web design
- Highly proficient with design tools (eg. Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD)
- Highly proficient with prototyping and collaboration tools (eg. Zeplin)
- Excited about working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
- Comfort collaborating with a distributed team (Slack, Zoom, etc.)
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Passion for Hipcamp’s mission
- Always design thinking
