Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director-General and in close consultation with the Director Academics and other Heads of Divisions, the incumbent is responsible for supervising and controlling non-office and office equipment and other assets, overseeing general performance of administrative staff, linking the institute with stakeholders and suppliers, initiating introduction of financial and administrative controls, and facilitating the budget process.
Main Duties
- Provide supervision and direction over all administrative and financial matters of the Institute in consultation with the Director-General
- Control non-office and office equipment by facilitating allocation of equipment and furniture to staff
- Authorize procurement and facilitate disposal of obsolete equipment
- Oversee performance of administrative staff, including appraisals, work plans, disciplinary actions, and monitoring
- Facilitate preparation of the annual budget
- Monitor day-to-day performance of the Institute and report issues to the Director-General
- Advise on formulation and implementation of policies related to administration and management
Job Specification
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Social Sciences from a recognized institution plus five (5) years or more work experience as an Administration Manager or in related fields
- Honours Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Social Sciences plus seven (7) years or more work experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences plus ten (10) years or more work experience

Responsible for negligence leading to loss or destruction of government assets and equipment

Responsible for safety measures including warning signs, first aid kits, fire prevention, stress management, and HIV/AIDS awareness

Responsible for informing the Institute about work-related and welfare issues
