We have an outstanding opportunity for a Digital Content Editor who will play a leadership role in our Communications Division.

The post-holder will be responsible for developing and implementing the Commonwealth’s on-line strategy as a key component of its Communication Strategy.  The scope of work for this position includes a) overseeing, commissioning, writing, and editing on-line content, b) overseeing and coordinating web design and development activities and c) leading/managing all other aspects of the organisation’s online platforms, including coordination with its Information and Communications Technology (ICT) unit.  The post-holder will manage a small on-line team that includes a Digital Content Officer for social media and a Digital Content Assistant.

To be considered, you must have a first or degree-level qualification in Internet and Web Technologies, Mass Communication, Journalism or a similar qualification. We are looking for someone with at least 10 years of experience in on-line content design and development, preferably working on the websites of high-profile organisations.  You should have at least five years of experience in managing web development initiatives and working knowledge of content management systems with experience in Drupal preferred. Experience gained in the international/public sector will be an advantage.

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate:

  • proven ability to lead a team;
  • ability to establish and maintain productive working partnerships with designated internal and external stakeholders;
  • excellent oral and written communication; and
  • a high degree of tact, diplomacy and discretion.
