Job Title: Deputy Security Manager
Reports To: Security Manager
Number of Positions: 1
Job Purpose
To support the Security Manager in maintaining a secure and compliant environment across all company premises. The Deputy Security Manager assists in planning, coordinating, and supervising all security operations to safeguard personnel, assets, cannabis products, and company reputation in line with regulatory standards and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and monitor physical, personnel, and product security measures
• Supervise daily operations of the security team, including shift scheduling and coverage
• Oversee access control, video surveillance, visitor management, and incident reporting
• Support investigations of security breaches, thefts, or losses
• Ensure compliance with local laws, cannabis regulations (e.g., Lesotho Medicines Control Act), and internal protocols
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of buildings, perimeter fencing, vaults, and transport routes
• Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
• Coordinate emergency response planning and drills (fire, theft, intrusion)
• Assist in training and development of security personnel
• Liaise with law enforcement, regulators, and external security partners
• Act as Security Manager during absences or delegation
Qualifications and Experience
• Certificate in Security Management or COSC/LGCSE, or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a security leadership role
• Experience in cannabis, pharmaceutical, or high-value manufacturing sectors is an advantage
• Knowledge of security technologies (CCTV, alarms, access control systems)
• Understanding of cannabis-related laws and regulations
• Valid firearm competency and/or private security certification (where applicable)

• Competency in incident response and investigations
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and security reporting tools
