Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor – Lesotho Campus
Job Summary
Botho University is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor – Lesotho Campus.
The successful candidate will provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to drive the continued growth and development of the University in Lesotho.
As a key member of the University’s Senior Management Team, the Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor will report directly to the Pro Vice Chancellor responsible for the campus, as well as to the Vice Chancellor.
Preference shall be given to suitably qualified local citizens.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Doctorate degree in a relevant field
- Approximately 15 years’ experience, with a portion in a leadership role
- Associate Professor/Professor designation will be an added advantage
- Proven record of research and academic leadership, including experience as Dean and in curriculum development
Job Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership in pursuit of the University’s vision and mission
- Provide effective guidance in academic and administrative leadership for the University community of staff and students
- Represent the University in strategic stakeholder engagements locally, regionally, and internationally
- Liaise and work with regulators and external stakeholders at a local level
- Secure a financial base sufficient to support delivery of the University’s mission, aims, and objectives through appropriate structures
- Review and improve academic programmes, budgets, and policies
- Cultivate and sustain positive relationships with other academic institutions, organisations/industry, and the broader community
- Ensure institutional compliance with Quality Management Systems, regulatory requirements, and government statutory requirements
- Prepare, monitor, and control the campus budget
- Ensure sound and effective student and alumni services
- Ensure campus governance structures are fully functioning
- Ensure effective marketing and recruitment of students
