Job Title: Dentist

Responsible to: Medical Superintendent
Department: Medical
Purpose of the Job
Under the general supervision of the Medical Superintendent, the Dentist shall provide appropriate quality preventive, curative and rehabilitative oral health services in health service facilities and at community level, in consultation with the supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Consult and diagnose all oral diseases.
- Clearly identify all possible and appropriate treatment/management options.
- Formulate clear, comprehensive and acceptable treatment plans for patients.
- Manage oral conditions.
- Perform oral examinations.
- Refer complex cases for further management.
- Develop and implement operational plans for the dental department.
- Ensure a safe environment and promote good health and disease prevention.
- Evaluate patient progress and public health programmes.
- Supervise dental staff.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Dental Surgery.
- Three (3) years’ experience in dental surgery.
- Registration with the Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council.
