SCOPE

The Demand Planning Analyst will be the key person driving alignment between the marketing department and customer service and logistics department. He/she will manage all transitions, APO & central reporting development ensuring alignment between supply and demand teams, as to ensure un-interrupted sales & healthy inventory. He/she must leverage systems and analytics in order to collaborate with all role players that, impacts demand plan accuracy, in order to drive improvements in DPA, Inventory & Customer service.

 

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Be the link between marketing and customer service and logistics organization to:
  • Ensure smooth transition management
  • Ensure all master data elements that may impact DP & sales are aligned to portfolio
  • Aligning sourcing changes/ challenges with Marketing & DP managers
  • Facilitate global sourcing scrapping process
  • Uploading volumes on monthly basis into APO
  • Identify opportunities to leverage the APO system & any other CP system in order to improve Demand plan process
  • Valuating volumes and communicating gaps to DP managers
  • Top 10 SKU per category, key markets, Bias focus driving corrective action discussions & alignment
  • Close collaboration with Supply Chain Manager – CDT in order to ensure commercial plans are a accurately represented in APO
  • Sharing demand plan volumes with business as well as SNP in order to ensure alignment.
  • Ensure that marketing & commercial activities in the SGC as well as on the ground is planned per forecast location, consolidated and used to adjust the promotional demand plan line in APO.
  • SPI’s,TVC’s, Radio
  • Sell In, Sell Thru & Sell Out
  • New, Transition Products & VAP’s
  • Attend key meetings with Marketing & SNP in order to ensure all DP relevant action items are noted, communicated into the regions as well as represented in APO as per the agreed actions & timelines.
  • Production of demand planning performance reports as well as key reports on areas of business that directly or indirectly impacts on demand planning accuracy, inventory & customer service.
  • Ensure systems & reports are accurate, by maintaining master data as well as validating transactional inputs & upload.
  • Produce pre/post performance analytics on pre-defined criteria that will add value in terms of determining areas for improvement and opportunities. 

    REQUIRED LEVEL OF EDUCATION

    Grade 12, plus three year degree or equivalent qualification

    LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    3 – 5 yrs. Statistical forecasting & Demand Planning in the FMCG Industry

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong SAP APO knowledge & experience in planning books, statistical modeling and finding opportunities to leverage/develop systems utilization
  • Proven track record of SKU transition management across complex networks
  • High level of intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Project Management and Coordination skills
  • Understanding of Business processes, systems & strategies
  • Experience in working cross functionally with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrates data management and analytical capabilities as role involves management of significant amounts of data
  • Driving innovation, by challenging the status quo & collaboratively find opportunities to continuously improve our processes, tools & systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken), in the English language
  • Experience using supply chain management forecasting/ERP systems (SAP/APO and other tools)
  • Scheduling and forecasting experience
  • Understands the SKU’s and customer hierarchies
  • Demonstrated customer awareness
  • Demonstrates urgency in resolving challenges & driving opportunities
  • Assertive, confident & negotiate persuasively, take a stand and resolved important issues.
