Data Science – Intern 2020 – Forests ( 85 and 86 for temps )
Sappi Southern Africa requires an Intern for Data Science. This intern will have the opportunity to grow and obtain the necessary skill, competencies and experience within the related field and will be required to support the business with different tasks and responsibilities during their contract period.
This role will report into the Precision Forestry Programme Leader – Research, Planning and Nurseries .
The main responsibilities of the job are:
- Assist with Precision Forestry research activities such as data manipulation, verification and cleaning.
- Work on the processing of large remotely sensed datasets and assisting with the quality control and validation of the outputs.
- Assist with Precision Forestry operational activities such as project support and training to operational staff.
