What you’ll work on:
- You will be part of a team that provides back office support to our SID group. The SID group is responsible for the reporting and identification of institutional shareholders of major stock listed companies. Your duties will include the following:
- Data processing and data cleanup of fund level information received from custodian banks into our internal data base. The capturing of this data is essential for the final reporting to our client. This task will essentially make for more than 60% of your time
- Generating various excel data sets that will be important tools for our SID reports
- Market/Fund commentary research to support shareholding movements identified in clients’ reports
- This position will require you to contact top institutional investors to confirm their shareholdings in numerous companies (our clients)
- You might also be required to do perform other tasks such as compiling investors’ profiles, research institutional contacts, etc
- This position is multi-faceted and requires verbal communications skills, oral and written proficiency in English (and ideally another language), research skills with a basic knowledge of financial markets
- Successful analysts at IHS Markit are detail-oriented, exhaustive researchers and self-starters
What we look for:
- Formal tertiary qualification with sufficient background in financial markets is a must
- CFA qualification (or in process of obtaining one) will be considered as a significant advantage
- Shareholder ID, financial market research or equity focused experience will be considered as a significant advantage
- Additional languages are beneficial
Skills Required:
- Strong Excel skills (highly comfortable with formulas, macros, etc…)
- High attention to detail is necessary to successfully complete large data processing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and multi-tasking abilities
- Strong phone skills; the candidate must have and a willingness to reach out to various parties in the corporate and investment communities
- Self-motivation, good organization skills and Innovation
- Fluent written and conversational skills in English are essential
