Key Responsibilities
The Data Manager will be responsible for designing, managing, supporting and securing EGAPF’s programs’ data databases. S/he will also serve the critical function of evaluating new database technologies to meet the programs’ data warehousing needs effectively and efficiently.
Essential Duties
- Develop, implement and support databases for programs and evaluations data
- Develop and maintain documentation and data management guidelines
- Ensure the incorporation of data validation checks in the developed databases
- Develop and periodically run data validation queries and produce reports on the data quality status
- Generate reports on the completeness of the data entered in the system
- Make data available to authorized EGPAF staff as per the defined protocols when required
- Troubleshoot database issues until issue resolution is obtained
- Coordinate and manage training for end-users on the developed databases
- Control database access permissions and privileges
- Maintain appropriate documentation of the databases such as but not limited to data dictionaries, versioning, granted access rights
- Develop, manage and test archiving, backup and recovery systems and ensuring that they are functioning correctly
- Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures so that the highest level of system and data confidentiality and integrity is maintained
- Manage data entry/data uploading into EGPAF’s global GLASER database system or any other data warehousing system
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, computer Science or a related field plus 5 years of experience in data management
- Knowledge of designing and maintaining databases in MS Access, MySQL or other database systems.
