Position: Data Entry Clerk

Sentebale is an organization working in Lesotho to support some of the most vulnerable children and young people to lead healthy and productive lives. Sentebale hereby invites suitably qualified and competent Basotho to apply for the vacant position of Data Entry Clerk on a fixed term contract.

Job purpose:

The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for the overall capturing of data in the M&E unit. The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for maintaining an up-to-date database to facilitate effective organizational and donor reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the M&E Manager, the Data Entry Clerk shall be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Keep the M&E database up-to-date and support programme staff produce periodic high-quality reports;

• Ensure proper filing and storage of M&E documents including questionnaires, monitoring reports, datasets and others;

• Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and other associated guidelines;

• Supporting the availability of current data recording tools to all clubs;

• Participate in regular data verification and audit exercises to assess the quality of data reported;

• Effective, timeous and accurate reporting of data;

• Support in management of a business process plan and tracker for M&E business processes;

• Any other duties as instructed from time to time by the M&E Manager and Coordinator;

Qualifications and experience

• Certificate in Statistics or equivalent qualification;

• At least 1-year data capturing experience;

• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other data analysis systems;

• Adherence and knowledge of health, child protection, Prevention of sexual Exploitation and Abuse and education issues;

• Excellent record of working with children and young people. No past allegations of SEA and child abuse;

• Ability to manage time and deadlines;

• Ability to function with mature judgement, tact and diplomacy ensuring that Sentebale Policies and Procedures are consistently complied with at all times;

• Ability to flexibility to travel as needed including overnight stays;

• Ability to sustain excellent relationships with external partners and stakeholders;
