As a Data Tech Lead, you will spearhead the design, migration, and optimization of our data systems. With expertise in PostgreSQL, DBT transformations, and ClickHouse, you will lead a team in delivering high-performance and scalable data solutions. Your leadership and technical skills will drive successful data migration projects and enhance the reliability of our data infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end data migration projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Architect and optimize PostgreSQL databases, leveraging expertise in schema design, indexing, and query performance tuning.
  • Implement and manage data transformation pipelines using DBT (Data Build Tool).
  • Design and manage high-performance analytics databases, including ClickHouse.
  • Deploy and manage PostgreSQL databases on Kubernetes, ensuring scalability, reliability, and robust backup strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and design solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for data architecture, governance, and security.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, ensuring uptime and data integrity.
  • Document data systems and processes to support knowledge sharing and future development.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience leading data migration projects in complex environments.
  • Deep expertise in PostgreSQL, including performance tuning, PL/pgSQL, and database optimization.
  • Proficient in designing and managing transformation pipelines using DBT (Data Build Tool).
  • Familiarity with deploying and managing PostgreSQL on Kubernetes or similar containerized environments.
  • Solid understanding of modern data architecture and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Time zone overlap: 8 hours with Central Africa Time.

Location Requirements: No restrictions

Working hours: Full-time dedication (8 hours/Day – 40 hours/week)

Contract details: 3-5 months
