JOB TITLE : DATA CONTROLLER

JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the District Livestock Manager, the Data Controller is responsible for receiving, storing and encoding data, maintenance of hardware and software, typing and reporting.
MAIN DUTIES
1.0 RECEIVING AND STORING DATA
1.1 Receive the district livestock registration and marking data from the district registration and marking officials to ensure creation and safe storage of the district livestock registration and marking data base
t2 Receive and store data on livestock registration and marking from the district registration and marking officials to allow analysis of the livestock registration and marking data
1.3 Receive and store into established databases, information related to livestock and livestock products
1.4 Receive and store into established database, data on socio-economic studies on livestock and livestock products
2.0 DATA CLEANING
2.1 Gleans livestock registration and marking as well as livestock products data to allow ease of analysis of such data
2.2 Verify collected data and advise the District Livestock Manager on the discrepancies or short falls that may appear in the data
3.0 HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE
3.1 Clean the computer, printer and all accessories to ensure protection from the damage that could be caused by dirt
3.2 Report faults found on the computer system for repairs
4.0 TYPING AND REPORTING
1.1 Types district livestock registration, marking and information system documents to enable smooth running of the office affairs
1.2 Prepares and submit timely reports to the supervisor for record keeping
JOB SPECIFICATION
Diploma in Information Communication Technology with at least 2 years’ experience as Data Capturer Operation.
OR
Certificate in Computer Studies with at least 3 years satisfactory service working as Data Gapturer Operator
OTHER NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Minimal knowledge of typing and use of work processing package.
