Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is a USA based Organization with public health programs around the World. It creates a future of hope for children and families worldwide by eradicating pediatric AIDS, providing care and treatment for people with HIV and AIDS, and accelerating the discovery of new treatments for other serious and lifethreatening pediatric illnesses. EGPAF`s work is funded through private donations, PEPFAR via the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Centre for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), Unitaid etc.

POSITION TITLE: Data Collectors (x10)

JOB SUMMARY

  • Under the supervision of PEO, conduct interviews for Community Pediatric and PMTCT Community Study with women/caregivers and children in the different villages of the assigned districts.
  • Perform recruitment and conduct eligibility screening for all potential study participants.
  • Obtain informed consent for all study participants.
  • Conduct interviews with women/caregivers and children in the different villages of the study sites.
  • Conduct interviews according to the study protocol in Sesotho.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information collected.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding data as requested by relevant country office staff
  • Compile and prepare weekly update reports
  • Referral and/or linkage of newly HIV-positive study participants to care
  • Perform other job-related duties in this study

JOB QUALIFICATION

  • A basic degree in social sciences (Pastoral care and counseling/social sciences, diploma in nursing or another relevant discipline.
  • Registration with the Lesotho Nursing Council for Nurses is mandatory

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in data collection for any evaluation/research at the community level
  • Proven experience in HTS especially providing HIV testing
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Computer literacy
  • Proficiency in English and Sesotho
  • Residence in Butha Buthe, Thaba Tseka, Mohale’s Hoek or Maseru districts
