SUMMARY

CBA is a local, humanitarian, development and non-governmental organisation whose mandate is to assist the Lesotho Government of Lesotho in pushing back the frontiers of poverty through various interventions including Natural Resource Management; Economic Empowerment particularly for women and girls; Food security and Livelihoods; and of course, HIV& AIDS prevention, care and support.

CBA with the support from, FHI360 will be implementing the Key Populations (KP) programs.  The project aims to strengthen the HIV prevention and care interventions for key populations (KP) through enhancing the capacity of the KP-led and KP-competent organizations to plan, deliver and optimize HIV prevention, care and treatment services to KP. CBA will implement the project focusing on Female Sex Workers (FSW) and Injecting Drug (IDU) and other priority groups in two (2) districts namely; Maseru and Leribe.

PRIMARY RESONSIBILITY:

The Data Clerk, under the supervision of the M&E Officer, will be responsible for supporting data collection, capturing, reporting progress at designated program sites and, will ensure accuracy and completeness of the records captured, working in line with the data quality, integrity, safety and security requirements. The incumbent will also be responsible for implementing daily data management activities including proper filing, data back up and safe keeping of data sets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the development/review, translation (where applicable), piloting and rolling out of the program’s data collection tools.
  • Participates in provision of trainings, coaching, mentoring and supervision to the Peer staff on monitoring and evaluation processes, including use of approved data collection tools and templates.
  • Captures and consolidates program data from designated program sites on daily basis while also maintaining data sets back up on daily basis
  • Participate during the implementation of daily, weekly and monthly data verifications, and quarterly internal data quality audits.
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of the data tools
  • Create files and folders for capturing the data while ensuring proper filling and security of data
  • Ensures timely data entry and submission.
  • Assist in Routine Data Quality Assessments
  • Participates in the weekly/monthly program internal review meetings among peer and support staff.
  • Compare data entered with source documents to ensure accuracy and to detect errors.
  • Maintain and keep a record of the work completed on daily basis.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

 1. Internal: All CBA staff

 2. External: Other Partner Organizations, local and internal organizations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a tertiary Diploma or bachelor’s degree in relevant social science disciplines or related fields
  • At least two (2) year of work experience in data collection, capturing and verification
  • Experience of working in the HIV/AIDS program
  • Experience of working for NGO
  • Proven experience working as a data entry clerk or in a similar role.
  • Must have experience in implementing electronic, mobile or tablet-based data-collection systems for data entry.
  • Experience of sorting and arranging data through hard copies to ensure it is in safe place
  • Sound understanding of relevant indicators, data collection methodology, data quality issues; data collection tools and assess data quality
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Especially MS Excel) required.
