Position: Data Clerks (2)
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (6 Months)

Sentebale is an organization working in Lesotho to support some of the most vulnerable children and young people to lead healthy and productive lives. In collaboration with UNICEF, Sentebale is implementing the Let Youth Lead (LYL) programme—an advocacy initiative that provides young people with a platform to voice the challenges faced by youth living with or affected by HIV in sub-Saharan Africa.

Sentebale hereby invites suitably qualified and competent Basotho to apply for the vacant positions of Data Clerks in the following districts: Mokhotlong, Butha-Buthe, Leribe, Thaba-Tseka, Quthing, and Qacha’s Nek.
Sentebale encourages interested and qualified youth from the villages surrounding the listed towns to apply.

Job Summary

The Data Clerk plays a crucial role in supporting Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) activities at the district level. The role involves close collaboration with programme and project staff, as well as partners, to implement M&E initiatives and maintain data quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the M&E database
• Support programme staff in producing periodic high-quality reports
• Ensure proper filing and storage of M&E documents (e.g., questionnaires, reports, datasets)
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection guidelines
• Participate in regular data verification and audit exercises


Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field
• At least 1 year of data capturing experience

Attributes

• Must be from the villages surrounding the listed towns
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
• Knowledge of health, child protection, and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA)
• Proven experience working with children and young people
• No history of SEA or child abuse allegations
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Maturity, tact, and diplomacy in upholding Sentebale policies and procedures
• Willingness and flexibility to travel, including overnight stays
• Ability to maintain strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders
