Position: Data Capturer
To capture information from hard copies to electronic system, i.e. Excel, Access, On key and SharePoint. To ensure that the information that is captured is accurate and of good standard. Defects and key notes need to be extracted from such data
and listed separately in a usable format.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE
• Diploma in Office Administration and Management or Equivalent
• On key Training /Certification will be an added advantage
• Experience in the Mining Environment will be an added advantage
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Enter information from documents to be stored and transmitted
• Consistently check work for accuracy and completeness
• Complete forms and ensure that information is updating correctly
• Read the information and keys the data into the necessary fields.
• Compare the entered information with the source to identify errors and correct.
• Separates information into different sections to categories and identify certain characteristics.
• Assist in developing templates for use by the organisation to streamline the capturing of information.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems
• Verifying data by comparing it to source documents
• Extracting key details from data sets for the compilation of usable execution documents
• Retrieve data from the data base or electronic files as requested
• Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
• Excellent knowledge of Word processing tools and spreadsheets
• Working knowledge of computer hardware and peripheral devices
