The Lesbian and Gay Community and Health Centre (the LGBTI Centre) is community-oriented wellbeing and human rights focused services, training and advocacy organisation. They provide direct services, outreach youth and community well-being programmes, support and education primarily to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) individuals and/or communities, Men Who Have Sex With Men (MSM) and Women Who Have Sex With Women (WSW) in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). The LGBTI Centre seeks to appoint a Data Analyst who will collect and store data on project implementation, do research, designs and maintain data systems and databases, including coding errors and other data-related problems. They will be based in Port Shepstone, Richards Bay and our Lady Smith district, KwaZulu-Natal.
Requirements:
Must have a Diploma in Informatics, Statistics and/ Mathematics
2 years data analysis experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (advanced in Ms Excel)
Documentation skills
Logical and structured approach to planning and execution of tasks.
Strong attention to detail skills
Analytical and problem-solving mindset
Duties:
Design and maintain data systems and databases,
Fix errors and other data-related problems;
Reorganising data to a required format or which can be easily understood;
Use statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts;
Demonstrate the significance of data analysis in the context of local, national and global trends that impact organisation work and/or reporting
Prepare Board and Donor reports that effectively communicate trends, patterns and predictions using relevant data;
Work with the M&E Unit and Programs to identify opportunities for process improvements, system modification, policy development and data management
