Purpose

The establishment and maintenance of an on-mine crime intelligence cycle, including gathering, analysis, collation and dissemination of intelligence products to inform the security risk mitigation process at Letšeng Diamond Mine.

Main Outputs & Responsibilities

In support of the objectives, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for the following outputs:
• Development of an overall intelligence appreciation of the internal and external environment in which the mine operates
• Co-ordinates the collection, processing, analysis and dissemination of intelligence to inform decision making
• Analyze security system / sub-system data to identify trends, behavioral patterns, anomalies.
• Develop a measuring and monitoring plan.
• Conducts research and analysis of data and information using specialist software to correlate variables and establish linkages between multiple data types and sources.
• Determines criminal associations and patterns of criminal activity relating to organised crime, white collar crime and major conspiracies
• Compiles comprehensive reports and prepares graphs, charts (link analysis, event flow analysis, activity charting), tables and other illustrative devices for visual presentation of data
• Develops and maintain an intelligence management system (e.g. information management database etc.) in accordance with best practices and security standards ensuring integrity and availability of information
• Develop and maintain liaison with the intelligence community at all levels to share information on criminal activities or suspected criminals under investigation.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Relevant Tertiary Professional Qualification at NQF level 6 (Degree / Diploma or equivalent)
• 5 years related experience in the Security or Law Enforcement environment of which at least two years must be within the Intelligence field
• 5 Years’ experience in Diamond Mining processes and practices
• Knowledge and good understanding of an Information Management System (CiiMS)
• Code B driver’s license

• Research and analytical skills
• Information processing and data interrogation skills
• Ability to perform basic statistical work, analytical research, and link analyses
• Proven acumen in identifying modus operandi employed by organised crime groupings
• Ability to detect patterns and trends in data.
• Knowledge of mining and metallurgical diamond recovery processes
