What you can expect

The successful candidate will be required take full ownership/responsibility of all back office processes from customer order receipt to payment receipt. Ensure a customer focused business environment, taking BASF’s business interests into account. Core responsibilities will include the following:

  • Ensure effective Sales Order Management for Imports and Exports
  • Taking ownership and resolving all local and export sales and customer related queries through the available BASF channels and service platforms
  • Proactive order monitoring and keeping customers and AM updated with regular information pertaining to Local and Export shipments
  • Prepare Export Pro Forma invoices upon request on SAP and understand Inco-Terms, (L/C, CAD)
  • Understand and manage high complexity in the Sub-Saharan export processes with customers
  • Interaction & cooperation with relevant internal interfaces / service units & external inspection agencies
  • Cross-check the Export documentation before it is sent to the customer / bank
  • Monitor consignment stock levels with customers & ensuring accurate month-end consignment usage
  • Ensure all export related documents are couriered on time & maintaining up-to-date document filing system
  • Proactive Credit Management: monitoring customer overdues, resolving account related cases (e.g. debit, credit notes,) and communicating with Credit Management in relevant regions
  • Non-Conformance Management: Process non-conformance / customers claims (NCM). On time, accurate and visible reporting on related information
  • Cooperation in sales related projects and on time feedback with stock variances
  • Ensuring Customer Master data is up to date and correct always
  • Handling of customers sample request and ensuring timeous delivery of sample to the customer.

What we expect

  • Higher National Diploma or Diploma in Sales, Logistics, Supply Chain or Business Admin preferred
  • 4 – 6 years’ experience with proven track record in Sales or Supply Chain
  • Self-motivated, result orientated, high attention to detail and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and customer management skills
  • Solid SAP experience and Microsoft Office computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills
  • Fluent English (written and oral)
