CapaCiTi Digital Career Accelerator is the skills development arm of the Cape Innovation and Technology Initiative (CiTi), a Non-Profit Company striving to build a future-fit, inclusive society through technology and innovation, over the last 21 years. CapaCiTi’s vision is to enable inclusive growth of the digital economy by ensuring a supply pipeline of future-fit, skilled employees with relevant digital skills matched to industry demand. We partner with a range of stakeholders and funders to give unemployed and under employed black youth the technical skills that will enable them to secure meaningful career opportunities and participate actively in the digital value chain.

Their Digital Tech Educators’ are responsible for ensuring that our candidates go from unemployed to becoming employed but driving the correct use of a blended learning approach, a mix of digital skills, career critical skills, job critical skill and an authentic learning strategy.

They have an opportunity for a Digital Tech Educator who has Python and Java knowledge and experience. You have a passion and the drive to make a positive impact on the development of unemployed youth to join our team. The ideal candidate is willing to go the extra mile for our youth. You are assertive, patient, empathetic, solutions focused and excited about the Tech industry with the ability transfer that excitement to our candidates.

CapaCiTi seeks to appoint a Curriculum Mentor / Digital Tech Educator  to be based in CAPE TOWN.

Employment Type: (Fixed-term)

Salary: R25k – R30k, CTC per month

Requirements:
NQF level 7 or higher qualification in ICT related field
Education related certification and training advantageous
3 + years ICT sector or educational practitioner experien

Responsibilities:

Provide candidates with training in a broad spectrum of digital technologies and skills
Provide content expertise on programmes and the ICT sector (Python essential, Java advantageous)
Consolidate mentor reports, statistics, feedback and development of insights into improvements plans and interventions as required
Create and manage the programme delivery schedule including job critical skills content to ensure all areas are covered
Improve the candidate awareness and application of transferable professional skills
Encourage professional behaviours and technical skills development
Ensure candidates receive feedback, reiteration, and modelling of required behaviours on a regular basis
Monitor candidate progression, investment, and involvement to facilitate adaptive and personalized coaching and mentorship strategies
Monitor Candidate wellness and progress on their technical and professional development
Monitor course/project/cohort risks and implement mitigations where relevant
Encourage holistic candidate development through focused technical, communication and career critical skills facilitation
Assist candidates in developing an understanding of the technical workplace and to build confidence in their own ability to succeed in a technical job
Ensure candidates are fully aware of the criteria and performance standards by which their learning will be evaluated.
