Position: Curriculum Development Consultant for a Diploma in Midwifery Programme

Background
Paray School of Nursing is a Nurse Education Training Institution committed to excellence in nursing and midwifery education. The institution seeks to enhance the Diploma in Midwifery Programme to meet evolving standards in higher education and health sciences. We are seeking a Curriculum Development Consultant to lead the review, redevelopment, and alignment of the programme with the Lesotho Qualifications Framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive situational analysis of the current Diploma in Midwifery Programme (2014–2024), incorporating stakeholder inputs
- Collaborate with a technical task team to re-develop thematic areas for the macro-curriculum, aligned with the Lesotho Qualifications Framework, Council on Higher Education standards, and Lesotho Nursing Council Scope of Practice
- Design the meso-curriculum using theme development tools in collaboration with a technical working group
- Facilitate workshops for teaching staff on redevelopment of workbooks, study guides, logbooks, and checklists
- Integrate contemporary teaching approaches including e-learning, simulation, competency-based and community-based methodologies
- Benchmark curriculum nationally, regionally, and internationally
- Address national and international validation and comparability issues
- Complete curriculum redevelopment within a 4 to 6 month timeframe
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing Education or Health Sciences Education
- Qualification in Advanced Midwifery
- Proven experience in nursing and midwifery curriculum development, especially competency-based approaches
- Strong understanding of National Qualifications Frameworks and programme accreditation processes
- Experience in conducting situational analyses and stakeholder-driven curriculum development
- Expertise in contemporary teaching methods including e-learning and simulation
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills
