The COMMERCIAL, STEVEDORES AND AGRICULTURAL WORKERS UNION -CSAAWU – is a Trade union that is mainly based in the rural areas and works with farm workers and rural working class.
CSAAWU is in search for an experienced Project Officer to be based in their Bellville office.
Key responsibilities:
Coordinate project activities and the collaboration between TCOE and CSAAWU
Provide overall management and implementation of the project
Responsible for smooth running and implementation of the project in support of union
Guide and provide recommendations to TCOE and CSAAWU leadership in relation to the project’s strategies
Provide an overview and monitor the time plan, activity plan and the budget
Strengthen and implement the M& E system
Strengthen CSAAWU’s national and international campaign work towards solidarity partners
Write reports and keep accurate records of the project
Ensure financial and administration systems are adhered to
Record keeping and minute taking of project
Liase with partners as directed by the union’s General Secretary and senior officials
Requirements and competency:
Tertiary education
3 years’ experience in relevant field
Computer skills and able to use different software programmes
Good writing, organizational and presentation skills
Strong Monitoring and Evaluation skills
Some experience with finance administration
Proficiency in appropriate languages for Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Free State is important
Communication and documentation skills
Added advantage – knowledge or experience of union work and an interest in, or experience or knowledge of politics and campaigning will be a bonus.
Driver’s license is required
