Requirement overview
To prepare, assess and approve credit applications within prescribed credit policies, procedures and risk parameters. Ensure a high focus on dealer relationship management, to contribute to the company’s overall profitability in compliance to the Company’s related Policies, Integrity & Anti Bribery Codes, Conflict of Interest Policy & S.H.E. requirements and to perform delegated S.H.E. tasks and duties & to inform superior about deviations.
Key duties and responsibilities
- To assess credit applications and determine the degree of credit risk involved and make appropriate credit decisions. Review escalated deals and actively participate in dispute resolution. Provide guidance and recommendations on deals appealed by relevant stakeholders.
- To liaise with both internal & external customers by having regular meetings, providing advice & recommendations on applications, ensuring excellent service levels are maintained & company core values are adhered to. Ensure that timeous feedback is provided.
- Compile relevant monthly reports which should include: Termination reviews (e.g. liquidation) and “Watch list” (arrears > 3 months) & “Problem lists” in standard formats, background of application, finance conditions, lapse date, reasons, status, expectations.
- In depth financial analysis, and interpretation, credit risk assessment and approval of credit submissions including review of existing facilities and quarterly performance information in a timely & accurate manner with minimal re-work required.
- Provide input and recommendations on process optimization and system enhancements within the department. Support Strategic Initiatives on Digital Transformation.
- Conduct a thorough analysis of new credit requests, credit change requests, renewals and annual relationship reviews including the compilation of sufficient trends and ratio analysis for credit decisions. Recommend risk pricing changes and keep up to date with the company’s lending protocols.
- Project Management and Self-development.
The ideal candidate will come from a Financial Industries background and have excellent communication skills. You will also have problem solving attributes, be well organized, have negotiation skills and be IT Literate. This role will suit someone who enjoys to apply credit know how whilst working independently in a highly pressurized environment.

3 to 5 years’ experience within the financial services industry
Credit lending principles
Education
Matric/Grade 12 plus 3 year relevant qualification
B Com degree/diploma (Financial Management)/ NCA accreditation.
