JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for Credit Portfolio management and reviews of Credit facilities. The Manager is expected to report delinquent loans to Senior Management, hand over such files to Debt Collections and remains up to date with relevant laws, regulations and standards governing Credit risk. Ensures that the Credit Policies and Processes are relevant and up to date.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervises the Credit Administration team in executing their roles;
• Oversees loan disbursement and account management duties by ensuring adherence to Credit Policy and Processes as well as credit approval terms and conditions;
• In-charge of the Credit Administration section to ensure proper monitoring of on-going Risk;
• Reviews daily system credit monitoring and management reports and takes appropriate action;
• Monitors irregularities and past dues, and provide solutions for corrective measures and follows up the implementation of such;
• Provides technical/theoretical expertise to resolve credit risk issues and enhances overall credit risk framework;
• Builds relationship with Business Banking and Retail units in order to improve daily monitoring of the overall credit portfolio;
• Evaluates existing processes in relation to corporate objectives and industry leading practices and reviews processes to achieve desired outcome;
• Performs follow-up to resolve and validate open issues noted during reviews or by internal/external entities;
• Maintains relevant knowledge of key legal, compliance and market-risk issues related to credit activities;
• Conducts periodical review on loan administration policy and procedures to streamline workflow;
• Ensures adherence to approved governing Documents related to Credit Administration team;
• Uses watch lists in conjunction with the credit evaluation team to ensure that accounts identified as being high risk are being managed effectively in terms of agreed action plans;
• Regularly interacts with Credit Evaluation and Debt Collection teams in discussing strategy & action plans to manage irregular accounts;
• Develops and maintains strong business relationships with financial intermediaries and banking institutions i.e. brokers, insurance providers, banks etc;
• Establishes a continuous improvement culture within Credit Operations to ensure that operational processes are efficient and customer centric, taking into account the bank’s risk appetite.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
• B.Com Accounting / Finance / and or any Business Management related field;
• At least 3 years Banking experience, particularly pertaining to Credit Risk management;
• Broad knowledge of applicable Laws and Regulations.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of the operating system and its related procedures, for analyzing the client’s account behaviour, identifying trends, and the management of excesses;
• Thorough understanding of all the bank’s products and facilities that give rise to credit risk, including their mechanisms and source of profitability for the client and the bank, and what constitutes credit risk in these facilities;
• Sound knowledge of Accounting standards applicable to Credit Asset book;
• Knowledge of Credit Products and Services;
• Computer literacy essential (Word, Advanced Excel);
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills;
• Ability to focus and pay attention to detail;
• Must be able to work under pressure and remain focused;
• Analytical with high tolerance for high volumes of transactions;
