The key purpose of the Country Procurement Manager will be responsible for the procurement operations in Lesotho by ensuring effective co-ordination and execution of procurement activities in country and provide leadership across the supply chain functions.

The Country Procurement Manager leads and coordinates the local Supply Chain (i.e. Procurement, Supply and Logistics) including accountability for local target setting in alignment with global and regional procurement goals. This individual will drive Procurement value contribution and excellent service to the AB InBev business while ensuring compliance with policies, strategies and processes, including:

Manage the country/local Procurement organisation

  • Manage, develop and drive continuous improvement of our supply chain operations.
  • Lead team members in accordance with the AB InBev management principles to support the organisation’s overall leadership focusing on performance and talent management, values, management and self-management practices
  • Assess impact in the country of changing global and regional Procurement policies
  • Assess impact of locally changing requirements, including legislation and policies
  • Provide support for the development of category practices for local categories, including support in relation to sourcing strategy definition, deployment, and stakeholder management.
  • Support the implementation of global strategies in the country, to maximise total cost of ownership savings and procurement value contribution. Under the guidance of Regional and Global Category Managers / Directors.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • Supporting strategic sourcing initiatives and procurement optimisation projects.
  • Position/escalate country specific procurement requirements on a Regional level incl. changes of local legislations and policies.
  • Actively support roll-out of Global and Regional Procurement initiatives within the country.
  • Support strong and robust procurement infrastructure aimed at optimising purchasing activities, aligned with Regional and Global infrastructure.
  • Track and monitor the Procurement budget in the country in alignment with the Regional Procurement Office.
  • Analysing cost effectiveness and directing cost control activities including budget review, profit forecast, purchase price variance against budget.
  • Support Global/Regional category strategy development and initiative execution.
  • Act as a change agent in leading implementation of new procurement initiatives.
  • Support global/regional category execution by leading contract implementation & driving contract compliance including champions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • University/Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering and/or commerce, logistics or other relevant discipline; or a relevant combination of formal qualifications and additional specialised study; a recognised qualification in procurement would be considered an asset.  
  • Minimum 4 years experience in Procurement, Logistics or Supply. In depth knowledge of procurement, supply chain, finance and logistics.
  • Consumer Goods experience and Alco-Bev industry experience will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of all relevant legislative requirements and familiar with local market environments.
  • Good interpersonal skills, analytical skills and builds good relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good verbal, self-management principles and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to and implement change effectively.
  • Excellent coaching capability and strives for continuous improvement.
