The Counselor 2 provides ongoing and crisis intervention focused on the emotional, social, vocational, educational, health-related, developmental, and organizational concerns that impact daily lives. The Counselor 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities

The Counselor 2 addresses a wide range of issues including problems in daily living, psychiatric crisis, and critical incidents. In addition:

  • Requires expertise and knowledge of general mental health and substance misuse assessment
  • Ability to assess and develop effective short-term interventions for high risk situations (suicidality, severe substance abuse, psychiatric decompensation, etc.)
  • Grief counseling, workplace problems, and management consultation.
  • Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
  • Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
  • Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s level degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other applicable field
  • Applicable State licensure in field of study, licensed for independent clinical practice (LPC, LCSW, etc)
  • 5-10 years or more of work experience in applicable field
  • Experience providing management consultation
  • Experience developing and delivering trainings
  • Excellent verbal, communication, interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP)
  • Knowledge of community health and social service agencies and additional community resources
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish); speaking, reading, writing, interpreting and explaining documents in Spanish

Additional Information

  • Location: WAH anywhere in the United States or office in Irving, TX
  • Ability to work between the hours of 10:00AM – 7:00PM MST
  • This is an hourly position
  • This is a work from home position where you will be offering your expertise and support over the phone.
