COUNSEL LEGISLATIVE DEVELOPMENT: Ref: CLD
To review and develop laws administered by the Bank in regulating the financial sector.
Areas of responsibility include:
• Development of policy proposals for the development of laws.
• Development of new laws and the review of existing laws to meet the demands of the financial sector and to align with international best practices.
• Conduct workshops for industry stakeholders on proposed and newly passed laws.
• Present laws on behalf of the Bank at different forum.
• Report on status of laws and policy proposals at their different stages of development.
• Provide timeous and relevant legal advice and support to the Bank.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned from time to time.
The Candidate will be required to:
• Conduct research extensive research on legal regulatory instruments.
• Engage with internal and industry stakeholders and maintain a good rapport with them.
• Follow up on status of laws and policy proposals with external stakeholders.
• Maintain a good record of work of the function.
• Continuously develop and implement the procedures and policies for the function.
• Develop an annual work plan for the function.
• Develop annual budget for the function.
• Attend meetings both internally and with external stakeholders.

All candidates wishing to apply should have the above stated behavioural competences and the following minimum qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Law.
• A qualification/course/training in Legislative drafting.
• Five (5) years’ relevant experience is preferred.
