Our client is looking for a Cost Engineer to join their project team for a 5-year project duration in Lesotho.
What they are looking for:
- BEng/BSc/BTech in civil engineering and professional registration as Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng OR Degree in Quantity surveying with professional registration as a PQS.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in cost engineering, cost estimating, planning, scheduling, estimating and other areas of project controls for construction projects.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and to deadline.
- Excellent planning, co-ordination and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse and multi-disciplinary team.
What will you be responsible for:
- Assist in preparing cost data for contact variations or negotiations.
- Develop and implement requirements for cost recording and reporting.
- Analyse cost data and trends and prepare financial reporting.
- Use statistical tools to analyse costs metrics and perform risk analysis.
- Analyse consultants’ and contractors’ cost reports and extract required data for reporting to the Client.
- Review and analyse claims and variation orders.
