Afriski Mountain Resort seeks to appoint a Cost and Management Accountant to be based in Afriski, Butha Buthe.

The purpose of the job is to Provide support to the Executive and Operations staff, through cost management accounting. Preparation of financial data /analyses for use throughout the company (Management, Marketing, Operations, etc.) who rely on/benefit from the information to make informed business decisions. Primary responsibilities will include assisting Operations team with cost management accounting – financial input, identification of areas for cost reductions and operational improvements, annual budget process, periodic forecasting, and periodic analysis of operations performance.

Key Performance Areas (More information):

1. Management:

• Maintain and implement a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

• Devise and implement internal controls and systems to ensure all departments and Finance are integrated.

• Be an integral part of the Executive management team and contribute to strategic direction of the company.

2. Budgeting:

• Manage the preparation of the company’s budget with all departments.

• Report to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances

• Assist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction, including medium term plans (3y budget)

• Plan and maintain project budgeting.

3. Financial Administration:

• Year end audit – preparation and completion including statutory accounts and AFS.

• Monthly financial reporting to the management team, and board members when required.

• Costing to be done within the operational centers

• Maintain the General Ledger and capture all financial transactions timeously into XERO.

• Ensure all payments to creditors are performed daily through the online banking application.

• Manage finances at the operational centers.

• Prepare yearly budgets of the operational centers.

• Draft management account

• Balance sheet, Accounts payable and receivable monthly recons to perform.

• Prepare board financials and reporting.

• Responsible for management of Afriski Mountain Resort accounts

4. General:

• Comply with all directives from time to time given to you by the company, and all rules and regulations.

• Any other ad hoc functions to be requested.

Requirements:

• C.O.S.C. (Grade 12), CA, AAT

• CIMA Qualification

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
