Eager, Passionate, Teachable Copywriter Wanted for Nonprofit Organization

At Finding Genius Foundation we are focused on finding the latest scientists and doctors who have new approaches to healthcare to let more people know about these. Our audiences are 1) healthcare practitioners looking for new ways of helping their patients, 2) chronic suffers looking for new ideas on
what strategies they can pursue to help themselves, 3) friends and relatives sufferers who want to be of value to the one they are concerned about, and 4) past donors to other mental health causes.

We seek an eager, passionate, detail-oriented, teachable, teachable copywriter with a strong work ethic for long-term, monthly-retainer-based copywriting.

The driving force behind our mission is the things we’ve discovered are either not known or little known among both practitioners and medical professionals. We also want to give those suffering these conditions to have alternative treatments they can pursue. We are providing information only, NOT medical advice, as we are not doctors or medical professionals.

What We Need from You:

  • Weekly: You will need to read up on the latest in nonprofit promotions, primarily websites that focus on nonprofit fundraising. Expect 10 hours of reading the first 2 weeks, and a minimum of 1 hour of study a week on an ongoing basis.
  • Weekly: Unless you’re the world’s greatest copywriter, you will also need to continue to read material on how to improve your copywriting – 1hr a week.
  • Weekly: You will be given performance information on things you create such as open rates, click-through rate, opt-ins, etc. You’ll be expected to review these and look for ways of improving results.
  • Weekly: Write one (1) email a week to our four different lists mentioned above. Each email should well researched and be 400-700+ words and contain a soft call to action at the end – click on a link, download a free report, make an appointment, apply to a program, etc.
  • Monthly: you will meet once with other team members to ensure consistent messaging across the entire organization.
  • Every 90 days: Write one (1) new promo, including a sales letter, copy for a landing page with checkout (plus split tests along the way), copy for Facebook ads (plus split tests), and an email series leading up to the promo with a deadline and fast-action bonus.
  • Every 6 months: Perform an assessment of other topic related nonprofits to evaluate their relative positioning, messaging, and the nuts and bolts of their offers.
  • Every 6 months: Work with management and customer care to update the avatars of each of our four categories of stakeholders.

Compensation and Payment:

  • This is piecework, 1099 independent contractor position, not employment. Consult with a tax professional to ascertain how to handle your finances, taxes, and obligations as a contractor.
  • You will be paid weekly by submitting your invoice each Friday. Payment will reach your bank account by direct deposit the following Thursday.
  • Compensation is $3,000 – $4,000 a month, depending on your skill level, work ethic, and copywriting acumen. There is room for growth, should you perform consistently and demonstrate compelling work that profitably converts leads into paying clients.

Workflow Details:

  • This is a work-from-home position. No commute is needed.
  • Work hours are flexible – your choice of day, night, weekdays, or weekends – up to you
  • You must respond to requests from the company and its personnel within 24 hours on most issues, except for weekends, holidays, or emergencies. Excellent communication is KEY.
  • You must have your own computer, internet access, and a working phone.
  • You must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. You must also be conversant with email, including attachments.
  • You will be granted a license to use Lead Pages to facilitate promotion-building.
  • You will have access to our backend team for logo and graphic design, webpage layout, tracking, reporting, and other fulfillment issues.

Here’s How to Apply:

(If you pass this level you with then be paid $25 for a quick assignment below)

The best way I’ve discovered to find good people is to offer them a paid test of their skills. Nothing means more than a sample article or sales letter was actually mailed / emailed that converted and earned clients profitably.

Please spend 15 minutes on Reddit on a forum that has those who suffer from chronic depression/anxiety to determine their challenges, hopes, and dreams. Write a 500-700 word article that talks directly to them to entice them about the benefits of learning more about alternative treatments.

Please email the article to: [email protected]

In your email, please include:

  • Your full name & phone#
  • Your PayPal or Venmo information
  • 2-4 sentences about your background
  • Why this position sparked your curiosity
  • The article you wrote

Regardless of the article quality, you will be paid for your work. If your article is good, we’ll move forward.
