Afriski Mountain Resort invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Cook at its site at Mahlasela Pass.
Job Responsibilities
You will:
• Do daily stock ordering
• Do the general production of menu items
• Ensure company standard operating procedures are adhered to at all times
• Ensure proper ordering procedures are followed
• Ensure all hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
• Wash and stack all production equipment
• Assist in replenishing stock, keeping it in relevant areas
• Keep stock count where necessary
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the entire production area and back of house
• Clean all necessary areas
• Report any mechanical issues to management
• Keep uniform clean and hygienic daily, ensuring correct uniform is worn at all times
• Be proactive within the work environment
Requirements
• Physically fit and mobile with no back, leg, or arm problems; must be 18 years or older
• Able to reach, bend, and frequently lift objects
• Must speak English fluently, and be able to read and understand English to a high standard
• Basic math skills are essential
• Able to listen, understand, and carry out work instructions correctly and on time
• Ability to learn quickly
• Able and willing to live at the resort if and when necessary
• Able and willing to work overtime
• Familiar with Health and Safety rules, preferably in a similar environment
• Honest, sober habits; conscientious and reliable
• Understand the importance of food production
• Ability to manage other staff
